About Daniel Procter

I am an experienced history educator with a strong background in mentoring, curriculum design, and subject leadership. Over the course of my career, I have worked across secondary education and teacher training, supporting both students and trainee teachers to develop a passion for history and the skills to succeed in the classroom. My work includes contributing to classroom textbooks, as well as publishing an article in Teaching History, where I shared insights into effective classroom practice. I have also written for professional journals on embedding sustainability and environmental history into teacher education, reflecting my commitment to broadening historical perspectives for learners.Currently, I work at Teach First to mentor trainee history teachers nationwide. Alongside this, I am co-developing an interdisciplinary KS3 project, Historic Landscapes, which explores environmental histories through place and landscape—helping students connect the past to urgent questions about our world today.I am particularly passionate about integrating environmental and social themes into the history curriculum, equipping the next generation with both historical understanding and critical awareness of contemporary challenges.
