About Daniel Riley

Hello! Here’s a brief summary of the experience I’ve gained over my professional years since leaving school at 16. I studied at McAuley Catholic High School where I found an interest in all things electrical and programable. When I left school I then secured myself an apprenticeship with a local Electrical Install company. Having worked hard, and studied hard I completed my apprenticeship and became a fully qualified Electrician at the age of 21. My knowledge started to grow and grow, working on a whole array of projects around the UK. I over saw the installs on bespoke houses, new offices, office refurbishments, fire alarm installations, CCTV and security installations, garden lighting and home multimedia installs. I also installed roughly 70 solar PV systems to properties around Yorkshire. Having gained all that experience though, industrial work was by far my favourite. I could see all the work that I had put into the install. As I’m proud of the work I do, and striving for the neatest and soundest install this field was by far my favourite. I was then asked to help out a local company as they were short of Electrical Engineers, working in maintenance. This field was completely new to me but I gave it a try. Having taken quite well to the work, the company offered me a permanent role with succession planning up to Maintenance manager. I have since gained experience in Electrical maintenance, PLC HMI and drive programming, built new panels for old machines, installed a variety of new machines ranging from extruding lines to rod break down machines, HV testing systems. I also look after the site, bringing in outside contractors to carry out various works needed. Thank you for reading
