About Daniel Ritchie

Always learning and stretching myself, I thrive when I'm creating, collaborating, problem-solving, envisioning, and strategizing in order to make our community work for all of us. Some of my core interests–including strong communities, sharing knowledge, social justice, and writing–led to my current position helping job seekers toward new and better work. I do my best to bring a growth mindset and all the skills and abilities I’ve gathered to each organization and project.Through my work as an experiential educator, organizer, researcher, writer, and social worker I draw from a range of skills and experiences that have proven exceptionally valuable as I adapt and apply them to new roles. In my work as a workshop facilitator and resume reviewer I’ve had the pleasure of teaching people how to be more effective and confident job hunters, so they can find their next–better–job.I love writing and using language to create new meaning, motivate, and connect people. Working with people on their resumes and cover letters plays to my natural inclination to clarify and strengthen expression and to polish text and documents. I enjoy writing fiction and poetry in my free time.A few experiences that have made me who I am:I lived in Brazil for a year as an exchange student (and miss having people to speak Portuguese with!); oversaw ship operations at sea in the navy; planned and led wilderness expeditions, taught outdoor skills, and facilitated diversity, inclusion, and allyship workshops at Outward Bound; organized and worked on issues from ending wars to climate change to racial justice; wrote a master’s thesis that explores the natural environment’s role in social work; and have served people of many ages and backgrounds as an educator, social worker, and in other capacities.I love learning and enjoy using my talents and skills for new challenges that organizations face. I’m a listener, a mostly-introvert with social talent. I pay attention and bring my mind and heart to collaborate with individuals and groups toward our collective well-being and highest levels of effectiveness.I’m always open to connecting with curious people interested in learning and growing together.
