Background
About Daniel Rojas
I'm a junior studying aerospace engineering with a minor in space policy at MIT. I'm passionate about enabling space exploration through rocket and space propulsion. This past summer, I interned at SpaceX on the Raptor Components team, where I was responsible for running various tests to help qualify a component on the engine for flight. I'm the test engineer and Fluids Subteam Lead for the Liquid Propulsion and Controls division of the MIT Rocket Team and a researcher at MIT's Space Propulsion Lab. Recent accomplishments include overseeing the procedures in Liquid Prop's LOX-ethanol experimental engine hot-fire, designing and manufacturing a current collector for ion-electrospray thruster testing, and launching my L1 rocket. This year, I'm hoping to develop and test an active throttle and thrust vector controlled liquid engine and become L2 certified. Outside of propulsion, my interests include volunteering, systems architecture, and politics.
