About Daniel Rufh

Having amassed over 16 years of credit & collections experience, I have spent the last 3 years working for the largest HVAC, plumbing, electrical construction service company in Canada, and prior to that I spent nearly 7 years with one of the leaders in distribution of electrical supplies and equipment managing the credit risk of 7 branches while maintaining accounts receivable KPI goals. This invaluable experience has given me insight into both the supplier, general contractor, and sub-contractor point of view in terms of credit risk. During my time in the electrical supplier industry, we were able to maintain consistently low DSO by leveraging relationships with new and recurring customers and using branch managers/ salesmen networks to increase account recoveries, utilizing the construction lien/ holdback method to decrease potential bad debt write offs, as well as understanding the use of a surety bond to alleviate risk for certain projects. I have attained my CCP designation as of March 2022 through the Credit Institute of Canada. This education, coupled with my experience has helped me attain a larger leadership role establishing new AR processes within Ainsworth's credit department, and minimizing risks associated with energy automation projects with ESC Automation. Being an energetic person and quick learner, I thrive in busy and challenging environments. I am well versed in working to tight month end deadlines and am known for my energy, charisma, and leadership style which can inject life to any office floor. I pride myself in my knowledge of the credit industry, my ability to create smoother collection processes related to the handling of disputed invoices, my experience with handling of legal items to ensure maximum collection results, and my ability to create long lasting, sustainable relationships with customers.
