With over 45 years of work experience in various industries, I am a seasoned plant manager with a passion for operations, outages, and problem solving. I have been leading the plant management team at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), where I oversee the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the facilities and equipment that serve our nation's veterans. I strive to create a safe, efficient, and productive work environment for my staff and contractors. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the VA, having worked in the aerospace, archaeological, and chemical sectors before joining the federal government. As the plant manager at the VA, I am responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the operations and outages of the plant, which include electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. I manage a team of specialists, contractors and vendors. I ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, codes, and standards, as well as VA policies and procedures. I also oversee the budget, inventory, and procurement of the plant, and monitor the performance and quality of the services we provide. I have also enhanced the problem solving and skills of my team, and fostered a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
