About Daniel Salley

Following my degree and masters in chemisty, i moved to Glasgow to pursue a PhD in automated chemical systems. During my PhD i was interested in the develeopment of automated platforms to accelerate to discovery of noval inorganic materials. My primary role was to conceptualise, design and construct these systems using advanced 3D printing technology and opensource, commercially available components. In the process i became proficient in crystallography, python programming, advanced CAD and automated platform construction. Many of the systems developed during my PhD have been published (articles linked below). I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Glasgow in the ARC. I am currently the head of the chemical robotics team within digital chemistry, working to further develope our automated systems for nanomaterial discovery and control of crystallisation in inorganic and organic systems.
