About Daniel Sampson

Hi! My name is Daniel Sampson and I am a fully bilingual civil engineering student at Université de Moncton. Throughout my studies I’ve completed four summer work terms in fields related to civil engineering and more specifically, construction project management. Most recently, I’ve spent the past two summers as a Civil Engineering Intern at the Eco360 branch of the Southeast Regional Service Commission. During this time, I was a on-site presence for the service commission on multiple multi-million-dollar projects. My main responsibilities throughout these projects were working with contractors to maintain construction schedules, assuring the requirements of the technical specifications were met and making on-site field adjustments as required. Furthermore, I’ve taken on several leadership roles within the university community, such as Head of the Concrete Canoe Committee’s Mix Design Team as well as President of our engineering student society. I find these roles to be extremely gratifying. For example, when I accepted the role of leading our Mix Design Team, it was because our canoe had broken at the competition the year before. Although I had little experience with designing concrete mixtures, I had the leadership abilities to guide our team along with the willingness to learn and ask questions. After my first year as the head of the Mix Design Team, we were able to grow as a group and ended up taking home the award for the Most Improved Team 2024. The sense of pride I experienced during the realization of that canoe is something that I strive to bring along into all the projects I am involved with.
