About Daniel Schwarz

Professor of Neuroscience and co-founder of the Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses (IBA), I work at the intersection of academic research, clinical innovation, and digital health. At the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University, I lead interdisciplinary research in neuroimaging, simulation medicine, and clinical data science. I supervise PhD students, teach advanced topics in data processing, and redesign medical education through technologies such as virtual patients and team-based learning. In parallel, I serve as R&D Director and CIO at IBA, where I define product and innovation strategies for certified software systems supporting clinical trials (CLADE-IS) and hospital-based 3D printing (3Diamond). I drive business development, lead international project efforts, and contribute to quality and compliance frameworks, including ISMS and ECRIN certifications. My long-term goal is to bridge academic excellence with scalable, high-quality digital solutions for healthcare. The Institute of Biostatistics and Analyses (IBA) is a spin-off of Masaryk University, transforming academic research into practical tools for healthcare and clinical research. For over 11 years, we have served as a trusted partner to medical societies, academic teams, and life science companies — locally and internationally. We specialize in data management and analytics for clinical trials, real-world evidence (RWE) projects, and non-interventional studies. Our flagship platform CLADE-IS is an ECRIN-certified EDC system for modern clinical investigations, while 3Diamond enables full traceability in 3D medical printing workflows.
