About Daniel Smart

I have been a front-end developer for 12 years, carrying out many contract and freelance projects all over London including one-off spells and several return visits/extensions. My core skills are HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript coding from Photoshop designs although I have acquired much more technical experience along the way. I see myself as a problem solver and someone who can make it happen. This can range from realising the artistic vision of a designer into a fully functional, cross browser/device user interface through to producing a finished product from scratch from just a few fundamental starting points. For me it is all about the end product and how it can be achieved. This can be done using a combination of a sound technical skillset, creative thinking, ability to adapt to a given situation both technically and culturally, and of course, great communication skills. Before specialising in front-end development, I spent several years working on the back-end (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) as well as the front-end. This provided a strong background of full cycle development and provided vital skills for my more recent front-end projects such as JavaScript and back-end integration.
