Consistently working towards broader and deeper knowledge in technology and leadership skills.My philosophy in most things is simply to be a good example for others. There is no greater teaching tool than leading by example: we look to parents, teachers, bosses, and experts for how we should behave at all stages of life.As an employee, I have learned from my seniors words and actions and synthesize the best of them. Even when I did not have defined training or leading responsibilities, I led by example and tried to assist my peers anyway I could.As a supervisor, I try to be even more direct in this philosophy: being on the ground, alongside those I am in charge of, contributing to the same work as them. I wouldn't ask any of my direct reports to do anything I wouldn't be willing to do. Who will people be more willing to follow: a leader who takes their fair turn cleaning the bathrooms or one who refuses to get their hands dirty? The one who's willing to stand alongside them for hours at a time or one who sits in an office and they only see for minutes a day?These are extreme examples, but people need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy. The example you set influences what they will do in the dark when no one is watching.
