About Daniel Sotelsek

Daniel Sotelsek is an economist and a specialist in development and environmental economics, finance and university management. He holds a PHd in Economics from Universidad de Alcalá. Since he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Senior Research Fellow of the IELAT of the Universidad de Alcalá (UAH). He was also a visiting scholars at the Pisa University, Harvard University, California University (Davis and San Diego), IDB, Cepal and the Columbia University. He is the author of many articles specialized in finance economics, environmental economics and economic development, among others, and has participated in different research and consulting projects. At the moment, he teaches macroeconomics and environmental economics. Active in university management responsibilities. In he was vicedean of the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Ciencias Empresariales of the UAH. From 2001 to 2006, he was vicepresident of economic affairs and, later, deputy manager of the UAH. In 2007 he creates and becomes the director of the newly formed Latin American Institute.(IELAT) of the UAH. During his last stage in academic management (2009-2012), he joins as general director to the Centro Internacional de Formación Financiera (CIFF). All along his academic career, Daniel Sotelsek has participated as an academic director in several postgraduates studies for the Universidad de Alcalá. Among them are: Máster en Dirección y Gestión de Servicios Sociales Máster Internacional en Gestión Universitaria (2006-today), Máster en Banca y Riesgos –Becas Talento Santander-(2007-2008).Since 2008 until 2016 he was codirector of GAIA Program.
