Dan leads teams to deliver impactful demand side management (DSM) programs and related program research and assessments for utility and governmental clients across the country. Dan is now based in Sacramento, California after relocating there from Chicago in 2017. His current focus is in California, however his work spans the country, focusing primarily in the Northeast, Midwest, and West regions. Dan coordinates with an extensive network of colleagues, contractors, clients, and other contacts across the country to drive best practices and knowledge sharing that advance the energy efficiency industry. Dan specializes in income-qualified programs in the residential market, as well as retro-commissioning (RCx), monitoring-based commissioning (MBCx), systems optimization, and energy analytics programs for the commercial and industrial (C&I) market. His experience spans the entire DSM program life-cycle: market research, planning, design, launch, implementation, and evaluation. Dan’s diverse roles and responsibilities have included program management, outreach management, trade ally management, engineering/technical support, research and technical writing. His work is informed by deep engagement and experience with many stakeholder groups including: utility/client staff (e.g, portfolio/program managers, account managers, EM & V, marketing, planning), end-use customers (e.g, property managers, owners, operators, facilities team), RCx service providers, trade allies and contractors, 3rd party program evaluators, and industry/professional organizations.
