About Daniel Suria

An environmental graphic design professional with over 20 years of experience, I have managed the successful planning, design, and implementation of EGD programs of various scales across the Greater Golden Horseshoe, United States, Caribbean, and the Middle East. The focus of my work is creating metric-based and user-centric programs for the public sphere, which have spanned to 1.8 million square feet. These include projects such as international airports, city rapid transit systems, university and tech campuses, courthouses, community centres and libraries, mixed-use developments and residential towers, corporate interiors and campuses, and numerous hospitals. My contributions to wayfinding and signage standards in Ontario include the design and development of standards for the Ministry of Attorney General, Government of Ontario, City of Toronto, and Markham Public Libraries as well as the coordinated exemplar implementation in their respective facilities. While I have spent the majority of my creative process on public spaces, I also led great brand design teams, executing graphics for a variety of corporate spaces while collaborating with various interior, architecture, and engineering teams to successfully bring these programs to fruition. I bring a thoughtful yet metrics-based approach to accessibility and sustainable design, and is the result of including stakeholder and user group meetings from various clients and disparate communities. In addition, I also bring technology integration, innovative materials use, supplier knowledge, and fabrication methods to the table. I served as a Director on the board of the Association of Registered Graphic Designers [RGD], chaired the Provisional RGD Committee for two terms, and was a past member of the RGD Sustainability Committee.
