About Daniel Surya

Daniel Surya is a futurist who firmly believes in next-generation technologies. Since 1997, he has been on a transformative journey and is widely recognized as the face of the Indonesian branding industry. He founded WIR Group as an innovative technology company that combines augmented reality, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence with highly interactive patented technologies into a metaverse ecosystem. Under his leadership as Executive Chairman, WIR Group has rapidly evolved and serves more than 20 countries with projects globally. Forbes Georgia named WIR Group as one of the metaverse tech companies to watch in 2022, alongside Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Magic Leap, Niantic, and Snap Inc. Daniel has also had the opportunity to showcase WIR Group's technology at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023. Prior to his current position, Daniel served as the Indonesia & Brunei Country Director of The Brand Union for 3 years. He led business operations from its setup, unit opening in Indonesia, and eventually growing the unit to become Indonesia's rising star agency in 2009/2010. Previously, Daniel served as the Chief Representative of Landor in Indonesia for over 9 years, overseeing Landor's business operations in the country. Daniel has received numerous recognitions for his outstanding leadership and influence. He was named the Indonesia C-League Executive in 2010 and 2011 by SWA Magazine (Indonesia), CEO of the Year 2012 by CMO Asia Awards (Singapore), CEO of the Year 2017 by SWA Magazine (Indonesia), Brand Builder of the Year 2011 by World Brand Congress (Mumbai, India), Dinfolk Disruptors for NFT and Metaverse World as "The Father of Indonesia's Metaverse" by Finfolk (Indonesia), Influential Business Figures 2022 by MAW Talk Awards (Indonesia), and received the title of Father of Metaverse Indonesia 2022 by PR Indonesia.
