About Daniel Tamburro

For the past 10 years I have served as a Biology and AP Biology teacher as well as an assistant varsity boys' basketball coach at Jackson High School. I have a passion for the field of Biology and sharing that passion of the living world with my students brings me great pride. Coaching basketball is something I truly love. Spending countless hours in the gym with our student athletes and fellow coaches has provided me with the ability to lead and compete alongside some truly special individuals. My passion for the living world and education began in college where I attended Muskingum University. I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology, while also earning certification in AYA Integrated Science Education. Muskingum University offered me the opportunity to work closely with many of my professors and develop a true passion for educating our youth. I was president of the local chapter of the Council for Exception Children (CEC), a group that hosted events for local school districts' students with disabilities. We would bring students to campus for various holiday celebrations, field days, and learning opportunities. It was truly a rewarding experience, that raised my passion for education even higher. I also had the opportunity to begin my coaching career while I was in college. I served as an assistant high school boys' basketball coach at John Glenn High School. The coaches and administrators I worked with for 3 seasons at John Glenn gave me the confidence and support to continue my coaching career. During my 11 years at Jackson, I have continued coaching and have served as an assistant varsity boys' basketball coach along with being the head JV coach the past 5 seasons. Coaching high school basketball has brought me great joy as I continue to work with young men who are passionate and dedicated to growing both on and off the court. Our program's success speaks to the dedication of our athletes and coaches. In my 10 years serving as an assistant coach, we have won 7 Federal League Championships, 4 District Championships, and 1 Division 1 State Championship. I recently decided to continue my education by earning a Masters of Educational Leadership degree through American College of Education. Throughout this program I have had been awarded a wide range of opportunities to grow as an educational leader. The current Jackson administration has shown me what it looks like to effectively lead a school.
