Hello and thanks for reading. I'm an agency and in-house copy writer/editor with 15 years' experience putting words on the internet—and on real paper, too. I've worked on everything from editing industrial patents to breaking-news reporting to award-winning ad campaigns. At Verizon, I’ve proven myself as an effective manager by leading a team of copy editors through the brands biggest campaigns and product launches. As Copy Chief, I oversee all elements of Verizon’s brand voice, making sure that all Verizon employees speak with the same voice, and, more importantly, that our voice best serves our customers. In my time at Vz I’ve contributed to campaigns that have won Gold at the Cannes Lions, Cleos, Webbys, Andys, D & AD and others awards, as well as won the Verizon “Purple Squirrel” for individual contribution and the Verizon Retail Bold Award.(I've also won the Pushcart Prize for Fiction if you're counting.) Hired to build my department from scratch, I’ve implemented QC processes across the business; hired, trained, and managed a dozen employees; written the grammar and mechanics rules for our brand voice; published process guides, training manuals, technical manuals, and newsletters; managed outside vendors; edited our CEO’s keynote speeches; contributed to on many award-winning campaigns; helped launch our 5G product; aided in special events like the Super Bowl and Oscars; and worked across the Retail, Social, and Digital, UX/CX channels, among many other exciting things. Prior to Verizon, I earned my MFA in Creative Writing at Columbia University after a career in journalism, first reporting on the 401(k) industry and then on foreign affairs. My writing has appeared in the Columbia Journalism Review, Lapham's Quarterly, Zyzzyva, Sorbet Magazine, Brooklyn Review, Medium, and the International Business Times, among others. As a freelance copywriter, I’ve worked with Google News, Type/Code, UnionMain Homes, Droga5, Doremus, True Office, Morningside Translations, Refugee.info Italia, and others, with projects ranging far and wide, from small-business homepages to TV scripts to anti-money laundering compliance training games. Additionally, my fiction has been anthologized by The New York Public Library, Six Sentences, and the literary journal Bull Shit.
