Hi, I'm Daniel, I hold a PhD in Computational Neuroscience and I have 8+ years of experience in data science and statistics across academia and industry. Currently, I work as a Data Scientist in the Compliance Department of a leading financial institution, specializing in fraud detection and prevention using machine learning / AI models. Previously, I was a Data Scientist in the pharmaceutical/biotech sector, where I was the computational lead for a clinical study with the aim to match the right drugs to the right cancer patient. Before moving into industry, I spent 8 years as a Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute, building and analyzing large-scale brain network models to tackle complex neuroscientific questions. I enjoy visualizing and understanding data and I love finding simplicity in the midst of complexity. I have programming skills in Python, R, Matlab, and C++. I am well-organized, curious and my family's go-to person for IT problems.
