About Daniel Varn

Managing an international supply chain is as complex as it is dynamic. In a constantly changing international market, limiting supply chain disruption has become increasingly difficult. Over the past two years, countries across the world have been experiencing unprecedented capacity constraints and year-round peak-season conditions. I help my clients navigate these murky waters.I have managed supply chains across five continents, twenty-six countries, and a diverse array of industries ranging from automotive to consumer-packaged goods. It is essential to be agile and creative with managing a supply chain while staying up to date with the latest market conditions. I work with companies to find shipping methods and routings that work for them, from both a cost and inventory planning perspective. This requires strategic planning, clear communication, and effective adaptation. I also play an active role in the Flexport Chicago Office, as a member of both the Culture and Learning and Development Committees.My interest in global dynamics extends beyond logistics - I have been a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs for 5 years and am an avid consumer of global news. I am constantly working my way through books and podcasts on global security and energy, which are particular passions of mine. I also love exploring new places and am always up early on the weekends going for a run or watching a soccer game.
