About Daniel Watkins

Philanthropic causes: installed and maintain large farm of small form factor (SFF) PCs for distributed computing projects that can only utilize CPU cores. Projects of the biological category such as mapping cancer markers (MCM) and COVID work. Efforts in energy efficiency via CPU undervolting and BIOS flashing to unlock this possibility and also reducing energy-waste by processes wasting CPU cycles and idle time. Proud supporter of GridCoin, which encourages profit by useful computation rather than wasteful POW cryptocurrencies. Science has a growing need for iterative compute to solve problems. I have hopes for Fluxcoin but for now that is still cryto-centric and wil always be tied to energy-waste & closed objectives. I use username danwat1234 on the World Community Grid Rosetta@home Denis@Home and Sidock@home Overall BOINC rank; https://boinc.netsoft-online.com/e107_plugins/boinc/get_user.php?cpid=33c55b16c9b0fcc5446bc4e21803fec4 Folding@home stats; https://stats.foldingathome.org/donor/id/686992792 username; danwat1234_GRC_33c55b16c9b0fcc5446bc4e21803fec4 Reservation#71 of the Aptera solar-electric vehicle. Edit: Now #2071 since first is reserved for $10K+'Accelerator investors'. Runs a 1PiB Chia Farm, a green Crypto technology. No HBA/SAS business but via USB connectivity via 6 USB controllers in 1 PC. 127 device limit is a lie. My source of income is food delivery via GrubHub, DoorDash and Uber Eats. I have a strong desire to improve myself and the world, but easier said than done. Staying up to date with current PC hardware and technologies it is always a fascinating field. Socials:/danwat1234 Update June 2025: Farm compute now set to Einstein@home's FGRP5 subproject for a few months until completion. Because, the recent BOINC Pentathlon has thoroughly demonstrated that World Community Grid's servers are the bottleneck in generating or sending out Work Units for the community. It should be greatly improved in the coming months, in which I will be back to fully support. Please look at further updates on my Youtube channel's farm playlist; **Please consider donating to my GoFundMe to aid in the Electricity Bill for my farm.
