About Daniel Watkins
My research focuses on the dynamics of Arctic sea ice and the role of sea ice in the changing Arctic climate system. I am a believer in open science, in the importance of science communication, and in the importance of diversity in science. As a Senior Research Associate in the Wilhelmus Lab at Brown University, I work with a team of scientists and engineers to come up with new ways to measure the movement of Arctic sea ice, and to learn more about the physics of the coupled atmosphere-ice-ocean system.
