About Daniel Westerbaan

I believe in taking pride in my work—in holding myself to the highest standard and delivering the best possible value. I believe it takes more than technical competency to be successful. A truly capable individual is competent in their abilities and in how they treat people; I strive to be that balanced individual. I like to build things and figure out how things work. I also like to work on the "big projects"- to contribute to an effort which is bigger than myself. From childhood, curiosity and mechanical intuition were inculcated within me as I worked with my father who was a diesel mechanic, welder and farmer. I am a Professional Engineer with a masters of applied science (M.A.Sc.) in mechanical engineering. I specialized in materials science and possess a strong knowledge of welding and joining processes. I also have experience working in the hydroelectric, aerospace, and automotive industry. I have a strong interest in working with others to solve technical problems and enjoy managing teams of people to reach a common goal.
