I am a Senior Manager within PwC's UK employment tax dispute resolution team having previously worked at HMRCs in their Large Business directorate as an inspector and enquiry coordinator. Using my experience from my time at HMRC myself and my colleagues help businesses manage the most challenging interactions with HMRC as well as helping improve relationships with the tax authorities through enhanced employment tax understanding, policy and governance.Our team has extensive experience of- HMRC enquiries, including 'KYC', PAYE audits, data lead HMRC enquiries, expatriate tax enquiries, benefits & expenses enquiries,'employment related securities' audits and Business Risk Reviews- Agreeing penalty suspensions with HMRC through enhanced compliance processes- HMRC's information powers, penalties, enhanced offshore penalties and 'Requirement to Correct', complex enquiries under s9a- Employment status, intermediaries, the offshore intermediaries rules, agencies,'IR35', the public sector intermediaries rules, upcoming changes in the private sector intermediary rules, offshore contractor loan issues- Employment related securities including restricted securities, international considerations, carried interest, approved and unapproved employee share ownership plans, mitigation of charges- RTI, payroll and coding issues- Short Term Business Visitor enquiries and other inbound expatriate PAYE compliance issues (including modified payroll, Appendix 4, net of foreign tax credit payments and PAYE presence)- Managing GDPR risk in the context of employee, customer and supplier data when data may be required for tax audits- Termination payments including 'PENP' rules and FSR-Optional remuneration arrangements.
