Dedicated, take charge, leader with 10+ years of experience in the medical field. I solve problems to improve professional relationships and create the ideal environment for high quality patient care. I believe that patient care is the number one priority, and a well functioning facility will keep focus on the patient where it belongs.I have dedicated my professional development to improving the lives of patients. As a technician I learned to process patient prescriptions and communicate effectively with physicians, nurses and insurance providers. As I moved into a hospital setting I found my work more rewarding as I made deeper relationships with the various healthcare providers around me and was able to have a better view of patient care.Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work under very gifted and determined supervisors. I have learned so much from them.In 2018 I had the very unique opportunity to care for an elderly woman with Dementia. My day began with waking her up, giving her breakfast and administering daily medications and ended with settling her back into bed. I helped to improve her care as her illness progressed. I coordinated her care between her medical and pharmacy services. I also helped to refine her care by alleviating any duplication of therapy that had been going on prior to my getting involved. I acted as the point of contact with the family, aiding them in understanding the illness and ways that they could interact with her. The care she was given helped her remain COVID free throughout the pandemic. Finally I helped her transition into a memory care community. The lessons I learned during this experience are invaluable.I have a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications and Media Studies. This helps me to more effectively communicate on many levels with co-workers, patients, and families. I also have a minor in business which is prime for aiding in operations.I also am completing a Masters Degree in Healthcare Leadership which has helped me realize my potential in leadership capacities.I hope to move forward and find my next great opportunity to learn and improve patient care.
