Daniel Winer is a legal expert with a unique specialization in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), recognized as one of the few professionals worldwide to hold dual LL.B. degrees from South Africa and Israel. This rare qualification equips Daniel with deep insights into the legal systems, commercial landscapes, and cross-border dynamics of both regions. Daniel’s expertise spans international commercial law, construction, renewable energy, high-tech, contracts, and international commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). He has immense international experience, having worked in countries such as Israel, South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Canada, USA, France, Switzerland, Greece, Holland, Switzerland and beyond. As Head of Legal for Innovation: Africa, Daniel oversees the legal facets of over 1,300 water and renewable energy projects across the continent. His leadership ensures compliance with local and international standards while enabling the sustainable success of these critical infrastructure initiatives. Daniel is also a Research Fellow at the Israel-Africa Relations Institute, where he contributes legal thought leadership on strengthening Israeli investment and partnerships across the African continent. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Daniel has spent seven years lecturing on international commercial ADR in Israel, focusing on negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. He and his partner were the first, and only, Israelis to win the prestigious ICC Mediation Competition in Paris. Daniel’s contributions to international legal collaboration are noteworthy. As the former Executive Director of the Israel-South Africa Chamber of Commerce, he played a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral ties. He also spearheaded a groundbreaking initiative to bring Nigerian law students to compete in the ICC Mediation Competition, enhancing Africa’s presence in global ADR forums.
