About Daniel Zundel

Hi, my name is Daniel Zundel. I’ve been blessed to have so many seeds planted for leadership in Catholic, Jesuit education throughout my life. When I was in 5th grade, my teacher – a Catholic sister from the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth – asked me if I ever thought about being a teacher when I grew up. When I was in high school, I first learned about the Cristo Rey Network of high schools from the Clerics of St. Viator. In college, the Jesuits taught me how to see the world through an Ignatian lens. These different experiences planted some important seeds that have since been fertilized and watered in my professional life.I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2010 with a degree in Secondary Education and History along with a minor in Pastoral Leadership. Since then I have been serving at Christ the King Jesuit College Prep (CTK), a Cristo Rey Network school in Chicago’s Austin community. I first started out at CTK as a Jesuit Alumni Volunteer, where I spent two years serving as a full-time volunteer and living in community. I have served CTK ever since. I spent six years as the Director of Christian Service and taught Civics, AP US History, and College Prep. I then spent five years serving as the school’s College Counselor. I served three years as the Director of Student & Partner Success for our Corporate Work-Study Program - leading our success team focused on forming our student workers as college and career ready graduates. I then transitioned to the role of Senior Director of the Corporate Work Study Program, where I provided support for our key strategic outcomes - supervisor engagement, job sales, and team transition & support. Currently, I serve as the Vice President for College & Career Initiatives where I am developing strategies to foster stronger workforce development to increase college-going completion rates and strengthen the career readiness of both student and alumni.These varied experiences have provided important opportunities to build relationships with students and shaped my student-centered approach to Catholic education.
