About Daniela Burgos

When I was younger, I loved to watch Barbie movies and was always on the lookout for the next adventure Barbie would be in. I've seen her play several different kinds of characters in her movies and have many different occupations on the Barbie website and in the doll collection. Looking back on this now that I'm quite a few years older, I've realized that the constant change in movie characters and occupations means that one doesn't need to subject themselves to one single interest. In elementary school, I wanted to pursue a career as a dancer or a zookeeper and when I got a little older, I wanted to be an orthodontist. My ideas kept changing and just last year I wanted to be a personal stylist or creative director of a major fashion brand which only adds more to the large range of occupations I had been thinking about. Around the time my interest in fashion began to gain traction, I found myself also expanding my taste in music and personal style which lead me to the realize that I don't pertain to a single genre or aesthetic. In the midst of all this exploring, my collegiate journey began and it was about time I picked a major. Today, I am a full time Biological Sciences student at UNLV with a concentration on Pre-Professional Studies and am on my way to becoming a Physician Assistant. I currently work as a medical assistant and have been nationally certified as a phlebotomist and lab assistant in the past year. So it seems like I didn't stick to the ideas I had even two years ago but I managed to find a stable career path while staying true to my interests, and as Barbie always says,"You can be anything!"
