About Daniela Dasuta

With 17 years of experience in the wine industry, Daniela began her wine career working in the Texas wine scene, becoming a managing partner at The Vineyard at Florence winery. Over the course of a decade, she helped grow the Vineyard into a multi-million dollar residential development with a spa, cafe, winery, tasting room, and hotel. Daniela divested from the project in 2017, forming her own consulting business, Sekt, which specializes in wine list creation, training, and educational events. She maintains ongoing relationships with such clients as Charles Schwab, The Royal Bank of Canada, Frontier Investments, and Fabergé. A proud WSET Diploma holder, Daniela is the lead instructor for the Texas Wine School's Austin branch, where she teaches WSET Levels 1-4 and mentors Diploma students. She is also currently part of the private client sales team for Chateau de Pommard, managing the central US, Canada, and S. American territories. In this role, she specializes in organizing and hosting luxury wine events and forging strategic partnerships with likeminded brands. Daniela has previously been a wine buyer and manager at a privately-owned retail store, a PR and Social Media Marketing Coordinator for beverage brands, and a wine studies adjunct for the Culinary Institute of America. She currently serves as board member for two Austin-based organizations, the ATX Somms and the Wine & Food Foundation, both dedicated to the advancement of wine knowledge in the local community. She resides in south Austin with her husband, Dane.
