About Daniela Frogheri

Born in Nuoro, Italy, Daniela Frogheri is an architect and engineer with an international and interdisciplinary background, focused on establishing connections between the exact and natural sciences and the social and human sciences. Throughout her career, she has worked on various projects in the fields of architecture, urban planning, industrial design, interior design, graphic design, and art. Her deep interest in the impact of the digital revolution, from its beginnings to the present, on the ways human beings think, act, and interact with their environment is reflected in both her personal and professional trajectory. Her work focuses on the interaction between humans, nature, and design through the concept of the project as an ecosystem. She specializes in the theory and application of creative processes, new technologies, and the study of their impact. Her work includes the development of systems that connect abstract languages, geometric algorithms, and artificial intelligence with human, sensory, and social dimensions, applied to spatial issues of various natures and scales. With over twenty years of professional experience, her career develops between architectural and design practice with academic life, combining teaching, research, and leadership roles in higher education. She is currently a professor and researcher at the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) in Mexico, where she previously served as Dean of the School of Architecture and Habitat Sciences at the Roberto Garza Sada Center (CRGS). Dr. Frogheri joined the CRGS upon its founding in 2013 as a tenured architecture professor and researcher. Between 2018 and 2019, she served as Director of the Department of Architecture and later participated in the creation of the School of Architecture and Habitat Sciences, becoming its first dean, a position she held from 2019 to 2024. From 2005 to 2012, she worked as an architect and designer, mainly in collaboration with Guallart Architects in Barcelona, where she developed architectural and urban projects and innovative spatial and social strategies at both local and international levels, often linked to research and in collaborations with the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, Fab Lab Barcelona, the Barcelona City Council, and several international partners. She has also participated in artistic projects with the digital artist Marcos Lutyens in Los Angeles, USA, including installations, exhibitions, and stage design creations.
