About Daniela Giuliani

I am a skilled Neuroscience and Translational Medicine MSc graduate from QMUL, with practical lab skills in molecular biology. I am committed to conducting impactful research, investigating the biomolecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, specifically of Alzheimer's. My goal is to contribute to developing effective treatments using innovative biotechnology or pharmacological approaches. I am driven by passion for scientific discovery and advancement, and I want to improve people’s lives through science. 🧪🧫 As I prioritise the 3Rs principles and human translatability, I seek to work with and contribute to the development of enhanced in vitro and biotech replacement models, from cell cultures and iPSCs to human tissue, organoids and organs-on-a-chip approaches. 🫱‍🫲 I aim to be part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, cooperating in a dynamic team, as I strongly believe in these values. In line with this, and to expand my expertise, I am eager to acquire additional competence in bioinformatics, and to connect with the fields of neuroinflammation and gut-brain axis research to understand their relevance in neurodegenerative processes. I am proactive, versatile and team-oriented, I thrive in intellectually challenging environments and bring strong organisational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills, also excelling in independent work. My motivation lies in connecting my scientific curiosity with my desire to make a tangible difference. My experiences with AD move me to passionately pursue a treatment for the disease. My experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant showed me the real-life effects of neurological disorders. My role as a Museum Assistant sparked my enthusiasm for communicating science and getting the general public involved in scientific matters, as I am convinced that a boost in engagement can benefit the community. Through these experiences, I developed a comprehensive, human-centred approach to science, fuelling my motivation to pursue translational research to optimise meaningful treatments for patients and their families, creating a lasting impact in healthcare.
