About Daniela Kempf

Daniela Kempf offers public speaking workshops and individual coaching sessions for businesses, law firms and other professional organizations. Her trainings run the gamut, from workshops on public speaking fundamentals to specialized trainings addressed to the particular oral communication challenges specific to her clients. Daniela is on the faculty of Barnard College of Columbia University, where she teaches courses on public speaking, trains and supervises Speaking Fellows, and conducts workshops for faculty. Daniela also teaches workshops at Columbia Law School in presentation skills, debate and argumentation, the Socratic method and improvisation exercises designed to overcome discomfort over speaking in public. Prior to joining Barnard, Daniela taught speech and debate workshops in the United States, and across Europe and Asia on behalf of George Soros's philanthropic organization, the Open Society Institute. She also worked as speech and diction coach at a television network. Daniela received her Master’s degree in Speech Communication from Emerson College and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in International and Comparative Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Daniela has authored and co-authored several journal articles and published a book on public speaking.
