About Daniela Koch

Pursuing physics PhD at the University of Washington with a focus on developing deep-learning-based algorithms for automated microscopy image processing. Primary research focuses on developing an improved single-cell segmentation algorithm designed to be used for quantitative analysis of microscopy images. Specifically, this project aims to improve the utility of existing machine learning models by reducing the number of training samples required for reliably precise performance on new and diverse datasets, as are often found in biology. Bachelor of Science in physics from University of California Santa Barbara, earned honors and distinction in the major for completing honors senior thesis. Focus of undergraduate research was improving MRI data processing procedures for establishing structural neural networks in the human brain
