About Daniela Langaro

I have a bachelor degree in Business Administration with an MBA from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (São Paulo). I have various professional interests and along the years I have had the chance of working across various industries and countries. I worked with Procter & Gamble in São Paulo as an Assistant Brand Manager. At P&G I have acquired world class learnings in advertising, product launch, price strategy, POS promotions, sampling and market analysis. In 2001, I moved to Rotterdam and joined Unilever Bestfoods Europe. I worked for almost 4 years at the Spreads and Cooking Innovation Center, developing projects for the European countries. During those years I have experienced the best knowledge available in all aspects of product development and testing (concept, communication, packaging, prototyping, etc). In 2004, I moved to Portugal. As I arrived, I started a consulting project for O Boticário Portugal (O Boticário is a leading Brazilian cosmetic company). As it finished, I joined a very successful Healthcare Company, being responsible for leading OTC brands. It was a very challenging and pleasurable experience, having the chance of tailoring methodologies from FMCG to the pharmaceutics distribution channels. The challenge of working in the healthcare market goes beyond methodologies and it requires a very close understanding of the pathologies involved and the prescriber behavior (doctors and pharmaceutics). Excellent results were obtained, derived from a consistent articulation of these variables. After that, I have joined Danone Portugal, being resposible for innovation and Actimel. Since January, I have been a full time PHD researcher ISCTE-IUL, investigating Social Network Sites and the evolution of brand loyalty. In the future, I want to get further involved in projects at the university and develop my career as a full time researcher, teacher and consultant.
