About Daniela Manuschevich

I am a highly skilled professional devoted to the analysis of socio-environmental systems from multiple disciplinary perspectives. My PhD training in the United States has allowed me to complement my undergraduate knowledge with geographic modeling, terrestrial ecology, economics, political science and discourse analysis. I am committed to design policies that are sustainable for multiple actors in society by integrating social and environmental issues. My skills include geographical modeling of socio-environmental processes -such as changes in land use, and spatially explicit models of ecosystem services. I have also conducted quantitative and qualitative analysis of interviews and surveys both in the United States and in Chile. In addition, I have been teaching assistant for "Introduction to economics" for a year and a half in the College of Environmental Science and Forestry. I really enjoy working in teams because this helps me to comprehend how different people can understand a problem in different ways and then find integrative and creative solutions. I think the challenges that modern societies are facing today regarding sustainability require a critical and integrated thinking.
