I first started at EMSL as a part-time Administrative Assistant but quickly showed my motivation and dedication to wanting to advance my career in the sciences and was promoted to full time and became the bacteria coordinator and a Microbiology Laboratory Analyst. My responsibilities include: ensuring quality preparations and results for all bacteria projects received by the laboratory following appropriate SOPs and aseptic techniques; certifying inventory quality for all laboratory media and reagents; analyzing client samples for coliforms, fecal coliforms, E. coli, Bacillus cereus, fungi, Enterococcus, USP 797, legionella, heterotrophic bacteria, and fungal spores. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing poetry and manuscripts, and listening to a wide range of podcasts. Always eager to learning new things.
