About Daniele Pettenuzzo

I am an experienced technologist with a proven record of success in the Marine and Aviation industries. During the first part of my career I focused on supporting as well as developing weather related applications, and creating innovative solutions leveraging state of the art scientific algorithms and best practices. Later on I transitioned to the flight planning solution business, where I have been focusing on the modernization of legacy Flight Planning systems, working on the improvement of the code base and spearheading the effort to migrate applications into a cloud based environment. In the latest years I focused on DevOps solutions. I am experienced in CI/CD, Kubernetes systems, AKS, Docker containers and Helm Charts. Data analysis and monitoring is also a big part of my competencies and I have a large experience on Elastic Stack based tool. While I am not a pure code developer, I am highly skilled in Fortran, C, C++, Matlab, SQL, and R and I am extremely well versed in working with weather data, application source codes, automation/optimization and mining of large data sets. I hold a B.S. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from the University of Bologna.
