If my experience in the self-publishing industry has taught me anything, it is that determination, attention to detail, and self-sufficiency have been necessary attributes of my professional journey. Whether I was scouring manuscripts for grammatical mistakes, contacting retailers to ensure product distribution, or counseling authors on editorial guidelines, my actions were marked with the insatiable desire to improve upon each previous performance. I believe growth (both personal and professional) is achieved when a person who has the drive to advance is given the opportunity to really test their skillset. Throughout my career, I have developed and honed a number of skills such as developmental and content editing, meticulous attention to detail, research, communication, and training. I have utilized those skills in the completion of assessments, the editing of full-length manuscript, and the creation of training instruction guidelines. I also excel in the use of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and artificial intelligence. My ability to effectively communicate instructions and editorial guidelines to people with diverse levels of knowledge on the subject has sharpened my own editorial expertise and collaborative skills. At Author Solutions, I oversaw the editorial completion of hundreds of projects by diligently assessing and editing manuscripts, explaining editorial guidelines to the authors, and ensuring the quality of the editorial work performed by myself and other editors. I also aided in the creation and implementation of SOPs for the editorial services associates and the editorial department as a whole.
