About Danielle Campbell

Most of my career so far has been working with children, young people & their families, focusing mostly on working with children and young people with disabilities/ASN and within a youth and community setting. I am extremely passionate about inclusion, ensuring that families feel a part of their community and that their voices are heard. I have been very fortunate to be Chief Executive at Dr Bell’s Family Centre for the past 3.5 years, leading my team through the pandemic and now seeing it flourish coming out the other side. Dr Bell’s is a centre for families within the Leith community with children under the age of 5. Offering a variety of support including group and family work, 1:1 counselling, crèche spaces for families and creating a community for families to join. Outwith work I sit on a number of boards. I am a trustee for The WHY Project (The Wee Haven Youth Project), a youth work project based in the South West locality in Edinburgh providing open access youth provision to high school aged young people. I am also a director for Trees and Seas Outdoor Adventures. Trees & Seas believe that children learn best through hands-on learning and thrive through free play and exploration with guidance and nurture from supporting adults. They have a strong commitment to the Children’s Rights UNCRC, environmental sustainability and to build on the Nature Connection philosophy! I am a qualified foundation Signalong tutor, with the ability to teach people the skills to build signs and the confidence to use Signalong with the children & young people they work with. Helping to create a total communication environment in their workplace and at home.
