About Danielle Cervasio

With a PhD in Pharmacology from Stony Brook University, I have traditionally been interested in the intersection of Chemical Biology and Neuroscience. My dissertation focused on creating novel small molecules to visualize, manipulate, and understand glial cell dynamics. With 9 years of research experience, I have acquired and honed various skills, such as project management, leadership, science communication, and excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. I am motivated by the challenge of exploring novel ideas to solve complex biological problems and influencing science and medicine for better patient outcomes.Beyond my research interests, I am passionate about science communication and mentorship. I have co-authored two peer-reviewed publications and have two in-preparation manuscripts. I have been actively involved in recruiting and relationship building amongst graduate students while also serving as the Student Representative, liaising between the student body and faculty administration.
