About Danielle Counotte

I am driven by one mission: to turn scientific discoveries into real-world solutions that improve lives. Trained as a neuroscientist, I bring experience in both preclinical and clinical research, spanning pharmacological and nutritional interventions. Having worked across academia and industry, I now bridge these worlds as a knowledge transfer and business development professional — connecting ideas, people, and opportunities to unlock impact in life sciences, healthcare, and biotechnology. In my current role at Utrecht Holdings (the KTO for Utrecht University and UMC Utrecht), I lead initiatives that translate research into partnerships, ventures, and innovations. I thrive in multidisciplinary teams, contributing creative strategies and driving projects forward with clarity and momentum. Leadership for me also means shaping the environment in which innovation grows. I am passionate about building inclusive and diverse workplaces where people feel empowered to contribute. As part of this, I created the ASTP EDI Toolkit: Guidance and Resources to Establish Best Practices in the Knowledge Transfer Field. Looking ahead, I am eager to take on leadership roles where I can steer organizations, startups, or ventures toward sustainable growth and meaningful societal impact.
