Background
About Danielle Dygert
Currently freelancing and painting in St. Petersburg, FL. I hope to engage a diverse group of experimental artists that are underrepresented in the bay area. Specifically, art that is indirectly reactionary to social values and based on personal experience. My previous work, such as Artist Liaison for Ringling Underground, a John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art pop up exhibition and event, which is free for college students, allowed me to connect socially conscious artists with a large group of Millennials. Artist Statement: Within large-scale oil paintings I unravel our histories, social issues, natural landscapes, and my own experiences in order to provoke dialogues surrounding cross-cultural tensions and individual perspectives. My paintings mix traditional portraiture and landscape compositions with new-age color palettes inspired by the technological revolution. This work is meant to inspire conversations about contemporary mythos, digital personas, intrapersonal relationships and socio-political landscapes by revisiting fables and symbolism traditionally used to describe heroism, infamy, freedom and success.
