About Danielle Einstein

I have an extensive career spanning 28 years as a Clinical Psychologist, including campaigning for the phone ban in Schools (through my research) and working as a Director of my private practice, Distinct Psychology, since 2003. I am a leading expert in anxiety and understanding the impact of uncertainty on mental health. I have been researching this over the course of my career. I use research to help influence societal change, the most recent example being shaping 'Disconnect Me' a 2023 Documentary filmed by Alex Lykos which will help the community make small changes in their technology use to promote rather than deplete emotional health. I have worked with over 25 schools to empower teachers to deliver cutting edge programs that help students and parents manage uncertainty. During Covid, I worked with Dr Helen Wright to create a suite of online programs to help teachers and students from Years 5 to 12 manage uncertainty. It was been taken up by schools across Australia, in Hong Kong and the UK. I have collaborated on the development of many school based programs (Keep Composed, Chilled@School, The Insights program, Emotional Intelligence In Schools, EMI Smart, The Dip@School), two internet programs (Chilled Plus, Climate Social Anxiety program), and a therapist led treatment for atypical obsessive compulsive disorder. I am passionate about altering community responses to uncertainty and envy. This is particularly pertinent in an age where people are taken advantage of at every turn. I have partnered with Arts Company, Bell Shakespeare and as an Adjunct Fellow at Macquarie university, I led a secondary school trial of an emotional health program. I collaborate with leading academics from Australian National University, The University of Sydney, Curtin University, Macquarie University and the Australian Catholic University. I collaborate with Dr Judith Locke, parenting expert. I have led clinical and research teams in many schools working closely with the executive staff to instigate whole school programs to promote cultural change.
