About Danielle Grover

In July 2012, I was awarded my PhD on the role of music in eighteenth-century fiction. I am an enthusiastic, hard-working and creative professional with a particular love of eighteenth and nineteenth-century fiction. In addition to having teaching experience in four universities, I have gained a PGCE from Durham University and have taught Key Stage 3, GCSE and had ten years of experience teaching A-Level English courses in both the state and independent sectors. Teaching and inspiring students to love English and read books is certainly my passion. English Language is a keen interest too and I've had recent experience successfully teaching the subject in further and higher education. I've completed a TEFL qualification and taught English as an Academic Practice in three universities, most recently in 2020. My enthusiasm for Jane Austen led me to design and deliver an evening course on her novels at Hills Road College Cambridge in 2015. Since then, I’ve delivered thirteen courses at Guildford Institute and Dillington House in Somerset. I would be excited to hear about opportunities to teach English Literature in Higher Education or further courses on Austen in adult education centres and universities
