About Danielle Kouri

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked with a wide variety of clientele from young children and babies to adults struggling with acute mental health issues and substance abuse. I am motivated by both career and intellectual growth opportunities which encourages me to seek employment opportunities that allow me to expand my clinical ability. In my recent roles at Aurora Las Encinas Hospital, I have been given the opportunity to coordinate and run two outpatient tracks with large patient censuses. In my role as program coordinator, I was able to overhaul how each program was run in order to create efficiency and organization which allowed each program to become increasingly successful. I have learned how to coordinate care between health care providers and patients through phone calls and motivational interviewing. Through these roles, my clinical skills have expanded beyond early childhood psychotherapy to including couples work, adult family therapy, and adult mental health groups. My scope of competence has increased to include a wide range of mental health issues such as bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis, and substance abuse. I have found that I possess skills in program and project management as well as the ability to assist my patients and clients with finding resources in order to improve their daily lives. I am looking for opportunities to fine tune these skills through care coordination or mental health program management. I am currently working on a Nutritional and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health Professionals certification as well as a Nutrition as Therapy certification. Additionally, I am trained in Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) working on certification.
