About Danielle Krause

My career at NABCO began in 2007, fresh out of high school. I started out assisting with data entry for inventory and quickly became the go-to for projects - cataloguing engineering drawings, filing accounts payable invoices, gathering packets for billing our National Account jobs. I distributed the mail and weekly pay checks, ordered office supplies and reduced printing costs by sourcing less expensive toner. The more I learned, the more I wanted to do. I took over freight claims and accounts payable while continuing to assist with office projects - I even worked Saturdays in the factory, in Shipping and Vinyl. I stayed on with company through my full time college years, where I studied Conservation & Environmental Science and Philosophy. I used that knowledge to help NABCO save energy and reduce waste. I ran a campaign to shut all computers and lights down when leaving each day. We put out recycling bins. I started a community garden on some of the company's unused land. I worked with our IT department to implement a scanning program with an electronic filing system, using barcodes. I helped Accounting and National Accounts learn to use PDF editors so less documents needed to be printed. With an in-depth knowledge of both departments, I was able to streamline a multitude of duties. I am proud to share that we are able to complete all National Account and Accounting functions without paper (aside from printing checks). After college, I transitioned from Accounts Payable to Accounts Receivable. I managed collections and had an excellent record of bring delinquent customer accounts back to current. Receiving checks was my favorite part of the day and I even received thank you notes from customers! Our National Accounts department was growing and in need of assistance. I was already familiar with the work from assisting previously and enjoyed the change of pace, so I transferred to the NA team. My first task was to bid on a new massive National Account. Of more than 1,600 stores, we were awarded more than 600! It was our largest service contract ever. The other members of the department already had full loads, so the whole account was given to me to set up and manage!(This was 2013, more to be added, customer is still active now, 2022). NABCO has meant family to me for my entire life though. My grandfather and dad worked at the company before I was born, and I was brought there at lunch time and attended all the company events! I grew up knowing everyone there. I wanted to be a "lifer" like so many of them came to be.
