Founded in 1978, hc architects serves a variety of public and private clients in the Mid-Atlantic region in master planning, space planning, building and interior design, historic preservation and sustainable (LEED) design.Dedicated to achieving architectural design excellence within our client’s means, our work has been recognized by our professional peers, clients, and community and civic organizations. Many of our projects have won awards from both the Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (NEPA AIA) and the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA); an award from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission for historic preservation of the iconic copper dome at Marywood University’s Liberal Arts Center; and a citation from the U.S. General Services Administration for the rehabilitation of the historic William J. Nealon Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Scranton, PA. Two of our projects have been LEED Certified GOLD: The School of Architectural Studies at Marywood University and the Lackawanna College Environmental Institute.Perhaps hc architects’ most noteworthy accomplishment is the ability to retain clients throughout our forty-one year practice. Our long standing relationships (Over 40 years) with many of our area’s educational institutions such as the University of Scranton, Marywood University and Scranton Prep are but a few examples.
