About Danielle Neale

Danielle Neale is the Head of Commercialisation and IP at the Australian National University, where she leads the strategy and operations to accelerate research translation, support academics in their journey to impact and facilitate a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. Spanning her career, she has over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, and digital transformation, with a focus on research commercialisation in universities. She holds an MBA from UNSW Business School and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology Innovation from Queensland University of Technology.As a former startup founder, board member, senior leader, and coach, Danielle has a passion for creating and scaling ventures that solve real-world problems and deliver social and economic impact. She has an extensive network across the Australian startup ecosystem and her work has resulted in millions of dollars raised for research commercialisation, significant cultural change and capability building, and implementation of award-winning public-sector innovation programs. She is a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award and a recipient of multiple staff excellence awards for industry engagement. She is also a certified facilitator, conflict manager, and board readiness expert.
