About Danielle Nyman

Actively working to bridge the gap between mechanistic and applied science to better understand human performance from the molecular to whole body level. I am passionate about applying training and nutritional strategies to benefit physical performance, and have been a hydration and nutrition consultant to hundreds of professional athletes, predominantly from the NHL and MLB, since 2018. I also have extensive experience with the collegiate athlete population, working as a varsity strength coach since 2019, and recently, as the head of performance for Gaels Women's Varsity Hockey. In addition to my practical experience, I have an unwavering curiosity for sports science research. I acquired my MSc in Human Health and Nutritional Science in 2021 from the University of Guelph under the advisory of Dr. Lawrence Spriet, specializing in the use of wearable athlete monitoring technologies in both rugby union and ice hockey. Most recently, I am a PhD Candidate in Kinesiology at Queen's University where I study the effects of nutrition on skeletal muscle recovery in the Nutrition and Metabolism Research Group, advised by Dr. Chris McGlory.
