About Danielle Perry
I am a hard working, committed, reliable individual who has experience in animal rescue and education. I started my animal care career in 2014 as a volunteer kennel cleaner. After a few months I progressed to being employed at the shelter as an Animal Care Assistant. After just over four years as an ACA I joined the Education team part time as an Assistant Education Officer as well as continuing my work as an ACA part time. As an Animal Care Assistant I help clean the animals enclosures, walk and train the dogs, interact and offer the dogs, cats, and small animals enrichment, vet appointments, kitchen duties and laundry. As an Assistant Education Officer we run award winning projects such as Paws for Reading, which helps children gain confidence in reading and the HALT Project, which helps teach 'at risk youths' important life skills through working with a rescue dog. We also offer Animal Experience Days for Children during the school holidays, deliver talks and tours to schools and community groups, and visit care homes.
