About Danielle Pinksen

I am a graduate of the Marine Engineering Systems Design Diploma Program, the Bachelor of Technology Program (Engineering & Applied Science), and the Master of Technology Management Program (Engineering & Applied Science) at the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland. While enrolled at the Marine Institute in my original Diploma Program, I had the privilege of studying with some very talented professionals equipped with valuable industry experience. I learned so much about various aspects of shipbuilding and drafting while becoming very proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and many other Microsoft programs. My undergrad and graduate degrees have allowed me to expand my technical skills gained from my diploma to incorporate more business and conflict resolution skills. I have also learned a tremendous amount about planning/scheduling, budgeting, and proposal writing through both my degrees and my industry experience. Since beginning my career in June 2015, I have had the pleasure of working with many talented teams across the Shipbuilding industry. I have had opportunities to work with various levels of designers to learn the tricks of the trade when it comes to 3D pipe modeling, outfitting requirements, MI prep practices, and other drafting/modeling-related tasks. I have grown both as a leader and a teammate, working hard to improve my motivational skills and my ability to ask the right questions. Since 2019, I've been leading teams of my own, which is what originally motivated me to enroll in Memorial University's Master of Technology Management program. This program has helped me reach a high level of confidence in both my technical and interpersonal skills, which I believe equips me with the tools required to help run a successful operation. In 2023, I made the decision to continue on my educational journey by enrolling in Memorial University’s Bachelor of Education (Post-Secondary) program. With the skills gained throughout this degree, I am hoping to share my industry knowledge and experiences being a woman in STEM. Please do not hesitate to reach out and connect!
